Ken uses Avast on all his Windows computers, and (other than this indiscretion) is generally happy with the product. If the software wasn’t so useful, it would be gone from our computers. We think this behavior (inserting text into your emails) is inexcusable. Select the Behavior tab on the left, and uncheck Insert note into clean message (outgoing). In the Avast settings, switch to the Active Protection tab. There’s another setting you also might want to modify, to ensure that Avast doesn’t touch your outgoing emails. Select the General tab if it’s not selected, and uncheck Enable Avast email signature.
Once in the application, click the gear icon in the upper-right corner.
